Small Creatures is a series for 5-8 yr olds. They are picture books with a rhyming story written from the point of view of a Spider. She tells the story of Jane and her friend Sam, two children who are curious about the world around them and ask questions.

Jane and Sam see a spider on the wall of the room as they play. This delightful story depicts spiders in a different light – more vulnerable – and explains how spiders hear.

Jane and Sam go in search of the spider and find her in her web. Gabby explains how and why spiders build webs.

Can Worms Laugh?
Jane and Sam are introduced to a worm and they ask questions. The aim of this book is to explain about the different way in which worms see and feel the world around them without the five senses that the children have.

Do Bees Have Knees?
After a harmless comment about “being the bees knees” Jane and Sam go in search of a bee and mistake its pollen sacks for knees. The aim of this book is to highlight a bee’s purpose in the natural world and also to extinguish the fear that a lot of children have about them.

My Uncle And I is a series of books aimed at the more advanced 5-8 yr olds. They are picture books with a rhyming dialogue between a child and her Uncle which impart fun facts about the universe.

The Moon
A child asks her Uncle why she cannot see the moon, one night, as they walk home. Her Uncle explains the eight phases of the moon, with the help of the illustrations cleverly showing what the child will see at each stage.

The Stars
A child and her Uncle look at the stars and they turn out not to be pinholes in a blanket that is put over the Sun at night.

The Planets
A child asks her Uncle what a planet is and is taken on a journey. They visit each one in turn and notice the difference between the 8 planets in our solar system. Pluto’s reclassification may also be explained.

This is a picture book for 0-5 yr olds written from the perspective of an explorer in a small boat on the perilous ocean. What dangerous creatures will he encounter? Written in rhyme, this story takes the reader into the mind of a toy as a series of adventures unfold (in the bath!).

This is a basic alphabet book aimed at 0-5 year olds. Each page dedicated to one letter and the page filled with as many illustrations as possible beginning with that letter.
